My Bank Rant :)
Ok... I do a lot of business with a hosting provider which includes sending payments to them on a regular basis. Because I pay them by wire transfer, I need to setup a new wire transfer every time I'm sending a new payment. This week, I was sending a new payment, and the clerk never bothered to ask me If I wanted to update the new wire transfer balance prior to setting it up! My bank clerk assumed by his own initiative that he would follow the old details before consulting with me first. So payment was sent, and he says, 'thats done'!
I asked; 'how is it done', I never told you how much to send'. He replied; 'ohh you're changing the amount'?! No shit sherlock, thanks for asking me I said. So now what; I asked him... he then tells me he has to issue a payment recall. This is where my bank requests to stop or reclaim the amount sent. This is also where they setup a new wire transfer while the old one is being 'reclaimed'. Ok that not to bad.... Right?
So today I check with my client and asked them if they received my payment in full and they just told me that they've received the old wire transfer balance. So Mr. bank clerk, what happened to my "payment recall"?
This means, while the recall had failed. I'm going to suffer a double whammy! Yep, you got it; my bank is sending my client two large amounts of cash. Recall failed = new standing order also in progress... What can I do? Nothing... I hate banking with idiots. There is nothing worst than banking negligence, and I hope I don't have to ask my client for my money back, as that would be most embarrassing :)
Ah, I feel better after getting that out. Thanks for reading!
